This page is an index to my reviews
of free ebooks.

I’ve decided to start reviewing books. Specifically, free ebooks.
This isn’t a quick decision. I reviewed films, music, and concerts professionally for many years and was never eager to get back to it.
But I think we’re in a time when the old bastilles are falling away and something new and exciting is growing up through the rubble. And I think free ebooks are part of the process. I want to share finds with you, as well as the idea that there is excellent reading material around for nothing, next to nothing, or next to next to nothing. It’s important.
I have already derived a few principles for doing this.
One is–I don’t pan anything. I see absolutely no reason to go to any trouble to bring to your attention books that suck. Have you ever wished that all reviewers had this policy?
Two–when I say “free ebooks”, I mean whole, entire books worth reading. Not “First 20 chapters of Michael Connolly’s latest” sort of thing. What is the point in THAT? It’s like, “Free Sex–except the last thirty seconds costs $100 if you want to get it.”
Another example of the big companies desperately trying to catch up to indie authors, and doing it wrong.
Three–I’m on the side of indies, though I might review books from larger companies, and I’m on the side of writers. Not publishers, editors, agents, critics, etc. Ultimately there are only two absolutely necessary parts of the literature process: a writer and a reader. Anything else is superfluous and drag on the system. I am a reader and a writer and that’s where my allegiance lies.
